Mike's Treasure Tracer

Version 1.0

This program is for metal detectorists. It will keep track of all the
items you find along with as much information as you wish to keep
about the item.

It will also keep track of the metal detectors you own along with
information you will need for warranty work or in case it is stolen.

It will also keep track of your hunt sites. You can store a picture
and other information. You can draw lines on the picture or add text
to the picture if you want to.

The program does no printing, that is the next step. I would like to
here from you about what information you would like printed out. If
you don't tell me what you want I can't put it in.

I have been working on this for a year as something to do for I am
also handicapped and can't work. You may use it free of any charge for
as long as you want.

A big thankyou to Mike for making this available :beers:

Nice program. A couple of things one may want to know. The file Mike loads it to comes up defaulted Program files/CrippleWare/MikesTreasureTracker. Don't let the word CrippleWare throw you off. His reason for the wording comes when you click on the "About" tab once loaded. If you hit "Help" on the menu line, he has a Help tree that brings up the different screens with explanations. At the top, "text to speech" is an option that lets the computer actually talk the instructions to you by computer voice courtesy of Maestro Software. When you click "turn off text to speech", the hour glass stays there working and when you click the X on the upper right, you will get the "Send error report?" screen. Simply click "don't send" and it goes back to the main menu, no harm done. My advice, check out how he implemented Maestro then ever use it again, unless he upgrades. It may not do it on your computer, but it did it both times I tried it on my laptop.

It allows easy picture uploads to the page with a few clicks, search your find files by date, coin age, etc. I especially like the GPS data lines for lat. and long.

All in all, it's a nice little program. I'll play more with it later and report if it has more problems.

Before loading the version of Mikes Treasure Tracer above, you may want the updated version 2 below. Thanks trueblue, didn't mean to step on your link, but found the V2 at WWATS. There is a way to bring V1 to V2, but if you haven't loaded anything yet, just go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and remove V1 before loading V2.

Mikes V2

V2 has several bug fixes and new By Hunt database.
