Hello ---
I wanted to let everyone here know that several of us from a few other Forums have formed a group to offer assistance to anyone who has lost a piece of jewelery or similar and would like a metal detectorist to help them look for it. Our group offers this help as a free service. We won't be charging fees for our efforts, nor will we be expecting rewards if we're successful. Our only goal is to help people in need, because we all believe it's just the right thing to do.
Our goal in posting here is two fold. First, to let people know we're around so anyone who loses something can find our site when they need help, and second, to seek out other metal detectorists who would like to join our group and thus make themselves available to help others in their area for free also.
If you're interested in checking us out (and possibly even joining us!!) we are called The Lost My Stuff Group, and our website is http://www.lostmystuff.net/.
FYI -- The way we've set things up is with a simple email group on Yahoo! Groups. Whenever someone posts an email to our group looking for help to find a lost item, we forward the email to all our volunteers, and if any of them are nearby and available, they contact the person to help them look for their item.
This email group is not a discussion forum. It's only function is to forward emails from people who are looking for help finding stuff to people who have indicated they are willing to provide that help for free...
Thanks for your attention!!
