Franklin & the Lady

My hunting partner "Texan" found us another site to hunt. Decided to give it a try this afternoon. 30 seconds into the hunt "Texan" is hollering 1st wheat! Couple of seconds later I'm hollering wheat. We usually have a side bet going that if you don't find an old coin, then you buy the winner a coke after the hunt is over. Since we each found our wheat, we decided that you had to find silver to collect on the coke bet. Hunt goes on & we are finding a few clad. Each of us found a couple more wheats. Texan is using his CZ3D & I'm still using my Racer 2. Seemed like the finds were slowing down when I saw a 95 pop up on my screen. Depth gauge said 6" down. Started digging down & saw a dirty edge show up. Reached down & when I felt the size of it, my thoughts where some kind of slug. Was I surprised when Franklin pops his face out at me. Definitely made my day. I've only dug (3) silver half dollars since I've been hunting so you can imagine the feeling I felt when I sat there looking at it. Hollered at Texan that he now owed me a coke. Texan is competitive & hates to lose. Before long he hollered that the pretty lady had appeared & that he wouldn't be buying me a coke after all. Texan found an old bulldog lock. I would have swore that he was trying to find the key to it because he kept on finding keys. Needless to say, it was a fun afternoon of hunting. The best thing about this yard is that it is directly across the road from Texan's house. So all we have to do is walk across the road & start hunting it.

Good find, half dollars are hard to come by for me to

I was using an old analog but was happy.
