Frank, did the rail cars ever return? :)

I missed them. I misjudged when they would come through and missed them. I sat along the track close to where I live for about 3hrs and never saw them. Later on I found out they were already in Amarillo. Would have been about an 80mi round trip to go shoot them and I decided to save the fuel. Sorry I didn't post update yesterday but had training all day and evening at work. Hopefully they'll come through again and I'll get a better shot at it.

Union Pacific will not provide me with any train schedule information for down here in this area which makes it difficult to take any train pictures. Kelley (Texas) :)

I really think the only way to catch trains to photograph is to have someone on the inside or get on some of the train forums for your region. There is a true and serious following of railroad stuff. And the people that follow them on scanners and listen to their radio traffic is amazing. I never would have thought it was such a popular hobby. Just like the group of people I do my aviation stuff with. Not only the photography but monitoring military on different kinds of radio equipment., most of our stuff is just word of mouth or online...,,,,,,BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION>>> They overnighted here in Amarillo. When BNSF needs security for any reason when they are short staffed they call the Sheriffs Dept I work for. One of my co-workes happen to be working the night before and told me about it when they started to leave. I live about 35mi outside of town in the direction they were going and was able to catch them. If you ever get a call to go take photos while they're on the run be ready to shoot fast......they really move.

to find a way to obtain inside information. I will just have to establish some good contacts. Thanks for the information. Kelley (Texas) :)
