four more little ones

moonshine

New member
Had a darn good day Sunday, got to see 4 little shiny ones come out to see the light of day! I wish I could find something bigger but they are eluding me. :nopity: The places I hunted were old home sites. At one site the house was still there, and at the other the house was long gone. The existing house was fun, very clean yard. the house that was gone was a junky mess. I still managed to pull that nice '23 out of there. You can see the other three silvers from the other site have that weird blue staining. (fertilizer???) Ahh yeah theres 8 wheats there but theyre pretty chewed up.

Previous hunt: The silver locket/chain is .925 sterling, the chain is in about 8 peices, thats why its in a bag. I tried to get as much as I could out of the ground. Im not sure if I hit it or what. It read like deep silver but was actually pretty shallow. I noticed the chain on the side of my plug and it was pretty torn up. Pretty cool though to pull on it and see silver coming out of the plug, like a silver worm, I was thinking "keep coming, keep coming!" But it really wasnt a very long chain. Neat to see the heart locket. No picture inside. That site was a public park site.

Hope you enjoy a little eye candy and as always GOOD LUCK out there!

That made me laugh. Congratulations on the finds Moonshine. Thanks for the pictures. Tarnished (blue/gray/black) is generally from moisture, I believe. Was the area "lowland" that might have a higher watertable?
