Four-Hour Hunt

Hit the beach at low tide. Found a nice keeper. Thirty-four grams of 925. It was black when I pulled it out. Hit it at eight inches at the shoreline. HH to all.

Never trust the clasp/Italy 925 mark on those chains, sometimes that's the only real silver on the chain....3 of 4 that I found were magnetic, not able to pick it up but when hanging in the air could be moved around with the pass of the earth magnet......a lot of those are sold in mall kiosk's and flea markets.

With a strong enough magnet, 925 silver will pull a little I think, Anybody help on this? Know for sure? I remember balancing on edge a silver ring on my own countertop and getting it to slightly rotate with a magnet last year...did not think much about it at the time though......that one being black when he pulled it out of the water is probably good silver. If it was junk it would be all corroded like the zincs and stuff I would imagine, I sure hope its a good one Jeff...it looks good from here, Nice hunt!:clapping:
Mud

It passed the magnet test with a neodymium. I need to invested in a test kit. The detector tells me its silver or at least not iron. Hoping...

I'd trust the combination of nonmagnetic + your detector reading silver. Acid testing will only test as deep as you rub off material from (ie, youre testing the plating if it is plated).

And yeah, watch out for that Italian stuff.

OH CRAP. It is real. I feel it in my bones. Don't let them scare you. :yo:

Glad to hear it passed the magnet test.....not trying to scare anyone, just inform!!!No reason to be blind or na

Jeff...stop it!

I'm supposed to be heading that way pretty soon. How am I supposed to find anything if you're finding it all? :detecting:

This is the best hunt I have had in over a year. Funny thing, the maiden voyage with the Sandshark produced similar results. Today was slower, although I did not hunt as long. Twenty-one cents, two sinkers, and an earring. Fun nonetheless. Let me know if you make it this way...

Hi Jeff........... looking good glad to see your back out on the beach I don't know if your still hitting the old places we use to search.....this last Sunday I found a 10k with 18 diamonds on the beach that I found and returned that ring to the lady in Atlanta last year.....

Still tearing it up, Boyd. If I had half of your skill, I might consider myself half as good. Glad you are doing well. HH
