Had a nice visit to Atlantic City before their Fourth of July festivities start up. Lot of soft sand around, but found a couple of harder areas and one area with a good cut between a sand bar and the water line. Found two sunglasses in the cut and a couple of coins. One of the two sunglasses from the cut were Fossil and in pretty good shape, even if slightly scratched. I'm sure we will find a good home for them with one of the kids. Dug just under $8 in change and not an inordinate amount or trash.
A couple of the interesting finds were not found with the detector; they were found by eyeball held between the boards on the boardwalk and retrieved with tweezers. The two earring parts found (both less the studs) were between the boards. The big sparkling piece is probably not a good stone, but is a silver mount. The little square thing is marked 10K and tests good at 10K. It also has JWBR marked on it. Looking up JWBR 10K earrings shows the stones they use are black diamonds in the middle and clear diamonds around the outside edge; little tiny ones.
Found a cookied coin. After knocking the crust off, it looks like it is what is left of a silver Roosevelt dime. Got one sterling ring; and two older keys.
Was a good vacation.
Cheers,
