Four 1930's Keeney mint tokens found in one day. Silver spill

I recntly got permission to hunt a house built in 1910 that is currently for sale and vacant. Best part is the yard has never been hunted before. So far, I've found 5 Mercury dimes, three Indians, Dragnet toy badge, 1920's Bog Winston's Overalls token and many other items so far. Found a coin spill with 3 Mercs (two 1923 and one 1942), a 1944 wheatie and a 1939 Jefferson all in one hole. That was a surprise.

Yesterday I found these four tokens all in the back yard area. They are for Keeney "Refresh-Mint"s and seem to have been used in a coin-op application? I found two that say "Good for 5 cents in trade", one "Good for one package of mints" and one "This token has no cash or trade value". About the only thing I could find out about them is that they date from the 1930's. If anyone has any more info on them or how they were used I would love to hear it.

Very nice finds for sure.

I used to have a CZ70PRO, and I loved the thing while I had it...First machine I owned that really started finding the good stuff...Your finds are spectacular...I Love old tokens...Makes a hunt interesting.

HH,

Thanks. I have been using the CZ70 Pro for the past 15-16 years. Just a great machine. Planning on getting an E-trac soon but will be keeping the CZ. Just too good of a machine. HH

A great day - good job !

That's a great yard! I hope you find a bunch more!

I have a yard I have been hunting off and on for 4 years now (since March 2012, found Barber quarter and dime, 5 Merc's, ton's of Wheaties, 1883 no cents V nickel plus two others, 3 buffalo nickels, 371st Regiment WWI medallion, Civil war SC button, gold gilded Girl Scouts pin, plus a lot more) and we still find stuff. I took a friend there with a F75 a few weeks ago to see what he could see and he found a 1901 V Nickel, a buffalo nickel, an old Chinese coin, and some Wheaties. All of these were down about 8 inches.

What I am trying to say is: Hunt this yard as hard and often as you can, while you can!
