Found this lock across the street from the old Train Station. This was located in Sanders KY. I found it with the EQ800. This town was small but had a racetrack from around 1907 to 1911. Over 10,00 people would ride the train here to go to the race track hat was a block away. It could seat 3,700 people. Trying to get permission for the land where the racetrack sat. In the pic you can see the finish line raised platform on the right. Grandstands on left.

That's really a great find. I assume the passenger station was for the Louisville & Nashville RR also.
The advertising poster depicts Surry racing, which was popular in that era. The horses were trained to a certain trotting stride pulling 2 wheel buggies.
I hope you can get permission for that site. It would hold plenty of history & probably lots of coins in the right spot. The lock you found also has a good value I'm sure.

Here is the L @ N crew from that station in Sanders, KY

Its not always about coins and jewelry, love the history!!!!!

Awesome history with your lock. Hope you garner the permission needed to hunt the track. 👍
Find out where this is and hunt it if you haven’t already.

I know where the hotel sat. It was directly across the tracks from the depot. Have not went over there to ask permission yet. Hope to get there soon
