Found with the Stingray II yesterday, any of you relic types know what it is?

Bill...
I think it is a very rare piece of old iron. I bet there ain't another one in the world exactly like that one!! If I hadd'a found it I would'a chunked it... But since you have taken the time to drag it back home and posted it on the internet.. Here is what it might be. It could be a spike that had a ring on the top of it....they would have had two of these things attached to each other by a chain. Each one of the spikes would have been nailed into a log. Then the logs would all have been rafted together to float them to a sawmill. Did you find it in a location that could have possibly been a logging route to a sawmill? Possibly a river or large lake?
Just my guess but I woulda still chunked it.

Those of us with meager finds must savor every piece, even those attractive to a magnet.
I was hoping you were going you were going to tell me, that it was the finest example of an early tempered piece, crafted by none other than King Chalybes of the Hittite empire. And later presented by him to a Shaman of the now extinct North American pygmies, long before the Vikings discovered Minnesota.
Whatta ya mean chunk it? Man, where I'm from we call that a relic!
But yes, found on a large lake(not in Minnesota, don't want Jesse V. ticked off at me).
And thank you, you are the first to at least make a guess.

Broken pike pole, strong logger, remember back, when men were men, and women were men. Thought I would include a picture of you back in your youth when you were herd'n them logs.

I've been up around where some of the early logging operations took place and always thought they'd have to be great places to hunt.

Brad,
Those came from a couple of lakes about a half hour east of your favorite brew pub.
I get them while wading beaches near where old sawmills were located. I think they are hand forged as no two are identical.

That is 1/2 hour west not east. LOL Too early in the AM.

just knowing that those came from an area I'm a bit familiar with. WTG for finding them... really cool logging country relics! Continued good hunting to ya!

Some form of logging spike; however, not a Pike. Reminded me of a bush hog (mower) tooth at first, but not quite. Then I thought of a sand rake (vintage). I really do not know, but I believe it has to do with logging. David @ Dixie

If you ever get up this way in the summer holler. There's a lumbering ghost town just off I-75 between Grayling and Gaylord. It's been beat to death but still has some goodies. No, not Hartwick Pines would love to hunt that tho.
