Found with first outing with Deus

First hunt with the Deus. Was hoping to at least find a few $20.00 gold coins.
Never found a Boy Scout scarf thingy. Only found one wheat. All in all it was a nice, peaceful morning detecting.

How do you get the greatest possible depth with your Deus?

I use 11.8 khz reactivity 2 disc 10 sens 85 and I dig coins deeper than my pinpointer no problem.

Do you get good numbers to come up on the deep coin? What state do you live in? What is your soil like?

Where do you have your Audio Response set?

Do you have Iron Volume set at any number?

Sometimes I get a deep hit but no numbers.

I made my own program.If the coin is super deep there will be no numbers but still have a high tone..I get vdi numbers up to about 8 inches on a dime after that i just listen for the clear hightone.

whats your soil like?

It depends. Some areas where I live are very sandy and some tough as heck to dig ... hard clay.
I just came back from an old school. One part of the field was easy digging and another part I had to use all my weight to force my shovel down.

My audio response is 4 my iron volume is 0,i'll change it to 3 in iron infested sites.i might get vdi a little deeper than 8 inches..i'll have to pay more attention next time..the tones definately hit really deep..i've dug nickles at 10 inches or better..do you have the 11" or 9" coil? i have the 11

I have the 9" coil.

On my #6 "Deep" program that comes with the Deus, my screen is just the X/Y screen. I don't see how to get that program to get the basic screen that shows the upside down horseshoe etc.
But I really like the X/Y screen. It gives me information I really like.

You can change all the settings in the basic 1 program to match the deep program,then just save it as a new program.that will give you the deep program with the horseshoe screen.

SENS 93 REACTIVITY 2 SILENCER- 1 FULL TONES , IRON VOL 0, DISCRIM 1 BUT CAN BE RAISED TO 6.5 IF NEED TO QUITEN DOWN MACHINE, TX 3 , 7KH , This is a deep program but it can be noisey if emi is alot and you can change tx 2 and sens to 90 if need be.

The Wheat is a '58' D and was down around 6-8 inches.
Interesting at this school, the coppers from the 70's were down around 8 or so inches. Of course that's about 40 years.

I have a coin garden with a penny at a measured 9 inches. The Deus, right out of the box, will not hit it. I have to tweak it
to hit it. Which causes me to wonder how many really deep coins I missed at that old school.
It seems to me the X/Y screen is much better, at least for me, at giving information on deep targets. What's your experience with that?

I hope to come away with a lot better understanding of the Deus.

silencer close a door basically where it has to be stronger signal to open it or in other words it takes a stronger signal to trip audio signal with a higher setting. Reactivity = recovery speed from one target to another. You should go watch Garys expert deus training videos too.

So for a deep coin, I should put silencer on -1 (negative 1)?
For Reactivity would I put Recovery Speed on 4 for fastest recovery speed?
