Found what I believe to be a precious Australian opal in 12 K setting....? ring or ?pendant

Hunted 3 hrs. around the noon hr....it's getting hot out there!

Found what I believe to be a precious opal...Australian opal in the wet sand near the low tide line.

I think it was part of a ring or pendant...leaning towards "pendant" as you will see by the pics.

No stamping on the gold portion, but it tested 12 K with acid test kitl

Don't wear much jewelry, but I like this stone , so I may have a jeweler put a tiny loop on it where the other one broke off , and wear it if I go someplace fancy.

Here's some pics.

Thanks for looking.

That future pendent would look complete with matching ring....what a nice find ,your beach keeps giving, how much land do you get when the tide is out?
I'm a big fan of the opal now, didn't even realize its my birthstone...the colors they give off are neon at times...

Great find, I love opals. So far in my 19 months MDing, I have found one ring with 5 nice opals. May I ask (generally) what part of the world you were hunting? I always wonder about machine and basic geography with interesting posts.
