Found this in a stream while metal detecting....not sure if it's a sundial or clock

Interesting that the number 4 is IIII instead of IV. I looked it up and I guess that's the way it's sometimes done.

Interesting Dave. How big is it?

Well sorta but since it went to a friend it's ok. Not like the artifacts I've sold early on Ebay that I wish I had back now!

And may I ask what artifact you wish you had back?

That's a good sized clock in it's day if that's what it was. I guess we'll never know.

Well when I first joined Ebay I was excited about putting on things to make a little money but wish I had many of them back. I miss the set of crude white clay pipes I had dug as well as a hand blown egg that they say old farmers used to try to get their chickens to lay eggs, a very old arrowhead, old porcelain 1910 license plate, an old Edison bulb, and various other things. Some I didn't put on Ebay but sold anyway. For the money I got, I'd rather have them to look at and touch!

I totally understand. Be thankful you have them as memories. That's something that will always stay with you plus since selling on Ebay, hopefully you've got the pictures. Possibly make a collage of pictures of your relics and frame it.
