in a park. 14K. Couldn't find any chain, but will look again. Good thing discriminate was set near zero. It was 3" deep in soft soil, large open grassy section of park, away from pull tabs. Vaquero.[attachment 61857 IMG_0332.JPG].
 
Fantastic find. Very nice. 14k is good gold.
Did you try and turn up the disc before digging?
14k on my Vaquero breaks up just above iron on the disc. knob.
 
up before pull tabs, that told me it might be foil but not a pesky pulltab or a coin. I was 300 feet away from the shade trees/picnic tables so a lot fewer pull tabs were being detected. Searched the area in supertune, minimum disc. for the chain.
