NEAS. DERBY J. ARNOLD SOMETHING LONDON ????? THATS ALL I CAN MAKE OUT thanks for looking

The pottery bottle looks like a T.J Arnold . Is there a v-groove on the top of the lip, like a pouring spout? It is probably an ink bottle. The rainbow color you are speaking of, is called irredesence, don't know if I spelled it right. If the pit you are digging has white ash in it, that is probably what caused the rainbow looking colors. Did some of the rainbow color flake off ? People used to burn their trash back in the day, also most of the really old town landfills burned the trash. If this is the case, you may find melted glass and disfigured bottles. Cool finds, if the pit is deep, usually the deeper you go the older the bottles. Have fun, good luck, and be aware of cave ins when you are deep down. Go digging with a friend.

i think you are right about the clay bottle does not have a groove or a lid .. the irridescent colored idk the hole did not have ash but there was alot of broken mason jars with milk glass lids i found the back hatch to something automobil possibly i can take a pic but the funny strange stuff i found was towards the middle looked like battery packs or ? like a bunch of D sz all put together like a six pack or or even an 8 pack they had green powderstuff on them an looked to be burnt or rotted . i found a big piece of metal an some other odd things like a milk jar holder / broken plates an the tops of oil lamps all broken. an as i kept digging i started to find stranger things like a pair of old black school boots childrens sz an a silver braclet that had a diamond flat piece may have been to engrave a name but nothing was on it . i also found an old hair tooth comb barret thing an bones so needless to say i collected my bottles an through back the comb an bracelet an covered it in ... gave me the jeebies.an honestly it scared the you know what outta me . my husband said someone was probably just eating a pig or something while they were burning but idk about 5 ft deep an 5 ft long was the hole i dug so that didnt sit well with me either. there is a hand pump near by an i have found alot of 1900's an 1920's relics so idk .

Old combs and boots are not uncommon to find. It sounds like you are finding some old batteries. They look strange after being in the ground for 70-90 years. Its surprising at how long those batteries take to break down and rot out in nature. If I was finding skeletal remains then I would be very concerned. Hopefully those are only chicken, cow or pig bones. Well its good to hear that you aren't out digging alone. Good luck !!
