Found some wings today

Today I went back to where the city is tearing up an old park for some sidewalks, etc. I found several wheats, a 61 nickel, and these wings. There used to be an Army Air base here during WW II. I wonder if these came from that place. The city had dug down about a foot and I found these maybe 8" below that. In small print on the back it says "Sterling".
Anyone have any information on these?
 
Nice looking find. Its amazing the clasp is in such good shape. You'd think, being that deep after they took the dirt off, there had to be fill dirt there at some point wouldn't you? Thanks for the pictures.
