Found Some Old Coins At A 1800's House

E-Trac-Ohio

Well-known member
Hunted the yard of a late 1800's house on Labor Day afternoon.
Found a total of (31) coins during the three hour hunt - (11) old ones and (20) newer clad and zinc.
The Barber, Merc's, Buffalo and most of the Wheat Cents were found approx. 6" to 7" down.
One of the clad coins I dug was a 1965 dime - dang .... missed a Dime Trifecta by one year !

Congratulations on the finds Mark. That's a lot of coins for one house....at least it would be for me. Thanks for the pictures.

That makes me want a e trac even more

Cleaned the Buffalo Nickel with a wet Brillo Soap pad - this seems to be the best way to clean dug Nickels.
As always - you need to look at the date before you clean any type of coin.
