Found some more relics

7centsworth

Well-known member
I went back to a civil war site I hunted last week and found some more goodies. I found several small caliber bullets this week. Last week I found a smith bullet , a suhl bullet a ball and a couple of buttons. This week I found a nice eagle button. Here are this weeks finds. The big ball that looks like a musket ball is actually a marble I seen it on top of the ground, the field has been plowed.
I was running in all metal 2 tones used stock coil then got in trash and switched to 6 inch dd . That coil found most of the bullets and some of them came out of places I had went over with the stock coil. That coil is my main coil I use.

Thanks. Last weel was the first time I had ever been relic hunting , now I am hooked.

Nice finds..........looks like you found a nice little honey spot!!! Hawkeye Jim.

Nice finds

Thanks , that was only my second time civil war relic hunting . My first was last week. I think I am hooked especially in the plowed field. Digging was so easy and did not have to worry about damaging grass. I mainly coin hunt, but now I am enjoying both.

gotta love those buttons. ive got a question. i hunt relics and coins and want a little more depth and coverage. which coil do u use.

I used the stock coil last week and some of this friday. Where I had been finding all the good stuff was littered with iron so I switched to my 6inch dd 18.75 coil. I pulled out about 7 more small bullets with it and that button out of a place I had just gone over with the stock coil. I ran my sensitivity at 29 until I got to the trash then I lowered it to 24. All metal tracking on. I have been rinning in pattern 1 since I got the 70 mostly . But here lately I have been using all metal almost 100% of the time. I have went back to places I have hunted in pattern 1 and dug more coins that I missed. If it gives a good tone I dig it lately and it has paid off. The x- terra reads what is in the ground if it gives bouncy signals there is usually trash close by. While relic hunting I use two tones and dig all high tones. Coin hunting I use 4 tones. Hope this helps.

G'day,

I'd say that you definetly got much more than 7cents worth on that hunt.:clapping:
It's a pleasure to see your finds from the hunt.
