Found some more goodies...

I usually only hit the forum in the mornings, unfortunately it has been down for me for about a week. That is also the week that I have had the new LW ML 11" coil! I must say it will be my main coil from now on. I have been using the Sun Ray Stealth X-8 (8") because of the weight and it is a great coil. Anyway I started in a worked out park a couple of towns over from me. First find a Barber dime! I was surprised at how hard it hit being down at around 6-7 inches, plus this park has been pounded. I found the new coil to be very stable - I ran it at 32 sens. with little false signals. The coil also did a great job picking through trash. The best thing... it is light! I have been waiting years for this coil! I really like it. The pic with the Barber dime is from my first hunt with the new coil. I also dug eight wheat cents!

Monday I hit a park and a private residence. The 1870 came from the park and made my day - probably a $100 coin! Also pictured are two 1905, and an 1885 IH and a 1911D wheat. The one 1905 is either a chipped planchet error, or someone was bored and shaved it off. I also found one other IH but it was destroyed and six wheat backs.

Still liking the new LW ML 11" coil. I used it at the park, and swung it for probably four plus hours (with little digging). I had to switch to the Sun Ray 8" at the private res. since there were power lines on two sides of the house, causing too much interference.

Take care and HH - Robin

Congrats on that 1870 Indian Head. I have noticed the same thing with the 11" Pro Coil. It hits hard on Deep Coins and also, it will pick up interference it seems a bit more. I have had to use the Joey Coil in spots due to the interference but I have tried using the Pro Coil in these situations. I have had to back the Sensitivity off all the way down to 12 Manual in some cases just to get the Explorer Stable again and the Coil still hits Coins down 8" without any problem. I think a lot of people are going to be replacing their Stock Coils with the Pro Coil and I may be one of them. Congrats on all them great finds Big Fang and Continued Success, Good Luck and HH on your next outings.

Aloha can you tell me where you got your coil and how much it cost? I to have been using a Sun ray 8 inch coil and with looking at your post the new coil looks like the way to go. Is this the same coil on the new MInelab SE Pro? I have an Explorer 2 that I got 3 years ago, I like it a lot but was thinking of getting the new SE Pro. Thanks for your time. Paul

I got mine at Pro Stock Detectors in Plainwell, MI. He ordered a couple, and I am sure he would be happy to send one off. Google Pro Stock Detectors for the contact info - I am having fits getting this response to post because of "banned" words... maybe the contact info, not sure.

Tell Al I sent you. Aloha,
HH - Robin
