Found some info on my pocket watch...

I had tried to find info on the pocketwatch find that I posted last week. But I couldnt find any info on a pocket watch company with the initials AG. Then it occured to me...Open the back, dummy! I did just now and found the following inscription...A.W.W. Co. Waltham, Mass. After doing an easy internet search, I found that it is an Waltham watch that was made in 1913. I had hoped to find an old coin, but this is pretty cool too. Now if I could just get ahold of the census record for 1913-15, I might find out who the mysterious A.G. is!

J.

ps. Thanks Mike for calling fourth the obvious suggestion that AG was the owner, not the watch maker:lol:

I love those neat old non coin items. That watch was a treasure to someone! Nice find! :)

Had to go back to take a look at it... Pretty cool! I love stuff like that :)

So, I see you played in front of a couple hundred people? I know exactly what you mean about it being a "nerve racking" experience. Happens to me every time I play. But it's well worth it when you watch all those people worshipping while you're playing :) Do you sing too?

but typically I try to make my bass line move around enough that I focus more on that. That, and when you add in the factor of having only played the songs once or twice before in rehersal. Looking up is something I need to work on...I know the lines, but I'm afraid that I'm gonna get lost.:) When I play my guitar, I sing more, since it parallels the melody.

I've had many a time when I've played and sang after only just first hearing a song before service :) Not the way I like to do it, but you do what you have to do. :) I've only recently tried to get away from relying on lead sheets. Sometimes just a quick peek is all I need.

The last two solo things I've done I didn't bring any lead sheets at all. I'm not exactly the sharpest tack in the box but I managed to get through it without any major flubs

My worst time was at a wedding. Somehow, there was a little miscommunication and I thought I was singing just one song. During the rehearsal I found out there was another that I was supposed to sing but didn't know. I had to run out to the Christian music store nearby at 8pm and prayed all the way there that they had the background music on CD (in my key). They did. All that night and the next morning I tried to learn the song. When it came around the time for me to sing, for the life of me I couldn't remember the melody! I got up to the mike, and I STILL couldn't remember how it went. I just kept saying to myself, "HELP ME JESUS!!!" over and over. The song started and I was still clueless. I knew I had to start singing at my cue and the Good Lord helped me out. Out of nowhere, the words and the melody  I've sung and played guitar at a number of weddings and I have to say, there is no more pressure on a musician than that :) I'd swear people can see my heartbeat by the way my tie is bouncing
