Travelled back up to Plattsburgh for my grandmother-inlaw's wake and spent a few hours detecting the old base. I found 2 wheaties, a hat pin from a 6th batallion band member, cleaning tools, a full (fulson, fulsonite fuse?) WW2 and older Army buttons, and other items. There was an interactive military timeline presentation to honor our servicemen and women going on at the base. I found some kind and knowledgeable reenactors to give the finds to. Feeling good I hit a spot where I had found a 12th Reg. of Infantry button and an artillery button. Sure enough I ended up finding two buttons from the War of 1812! Have a good one.
