These are from over the last week ,,a few hunts.

I haven't been out in awhile,,or on here. But I finally got a chance to go out and do some digging. 2 Silver Halves in a week,,,woo hooo,,sweeeeeet. Found the barber today and the WLH last week.
Total of 12 wheats a 1923 merc,1946 roosevelt dime,1946 quarter. 1943 WLH,1910-s Barber Half, 1931 International Harvester token,1859 Canadian Penny,,,fake ear ring and 2 old buttons.I also found a bullet mold which I have not cleaned up yet.

The 1859 Penny is interesting,,there are different types of these, brass, bronze and how the 9 was stamped. One style is worth some serious money. Im not sure what I have yet. It grades as Fine ,,maybe EF.
The buttons are interesting too,,I have a book but it is on loan so I cant look them up. They are old. Last picture is of one of the buttons ,,its the size of a quarter and very well made.

Really nice. I'm jealous of the Barber. I have yet to find one and it's definately close to the top of my 'gotta find list'.

Thanks everyone.

I cleaned and looked carefully at this 1859 canadian penny. Book says a plain narrow 9 bronze is worth 12$ in VF and a plain narrow 9 brass is worth 10,000$. Which one do I have?? Brass or bronze??? lol
I definitly have the plain narrow 9 but how can I tell if it is brass or bronze??I nicked it very little when I dug it and it has the look of brass in the scratch.
Does bronze have a darker color all the way through a coin.

Anyone know how I can tell for sure???

I found this site about the coin. They say only 25 brass coins are certified to date. The odds are bad that I have a brass coin.

I have the same 1859 Canadian penny (I didn't dig it up, I bought it when I got into coin collecting as a kid). It's in really nice shape, and is the common less expensive variety. I will try to find it tomorrow and post some pics of it so you can compare if you like.

Sure why not.
The thing is with the coin I have,, its been in the ground so if it is brass there is a chance that it will darken up. I found allot of info about this within minutes of searching.
Im going to take it somewhere tomorrow to be looked at.
