Me and same friend that I detect wt went to a house ,across state. Someone he knows. When we got there, owners said house was built in 1836,, "yikes" .
I went to the front yard, First coin,a wheat penny, second a 1943 quarter and then kept finding wheats all over.Along wt lots of bullet casings and some other cool things.Boy scout badge, brass bell .

Dug 1 object was to big 4 a nickle but smaller than a quarter, bent badly like been shot wt gun and also looked very smooth like a metal cut out or something.

We was there a long time and finally left, went into town got some food and decided to go to a old football field we saw on the way into town.. Very large field, I walked out dug a dime then a pull tab and 3rd item ringing in as a nickle from all directions was a 1948 gold class ring. lol "Lucky dog"

Got to my house late and decided to look over our finds. That bent up item turned out to be a 1866 2 cent coin. with a little scrubbing can see some details but the date of all things is the clearest. My first 2 cent.(although in terrible shape) Total wheats for me was 11, my friend found 4 wheats and some other interesting items but not so good this time for him. He uses a garrett 2500 and usually does well.
I am trying to hook up a camera today ,if it works I will post some pictures.

Good Luck

The cutout might be just that...a punch-out from an electrical box...you punch out the slug to feed wires into and out of the box.

HH,

There are initials and date on the ring but no name or clue of school. Gogogopher , I thought it was a cut out of some type until I got home and took a better look at it. It was a 1866 2 cent piece that has been shot 2 times with a .22 cal and bent it babdly. I have a pic now, its in terrible shape but can see the date and some details. Im going to try to straighten it,, lol, sure cant hurt it.
Heres a picture of ring and 2 cent piece. I just hooked camera up . not used to it. My pictures will get better, I hope.

And here is the 2 cent piece.(it is bent up on both sides) sitting on the silver quarter I found also. (how do you add 2 pics to one post, seems it wouldnt let me)
