Snowing today, watching football, good day to finally try Elmy’s recipe for cleaning clad coins. My first attempt but basically it went as hoped for. Now to double check dates and wrap for turn in. Getting close to the end of almost 600 coins so blurry eyed.
Have one coin that has the Queen on the front and size of a dime, usually I’m pretty good at culling out all foreign coins and keeping separate. Look at back and has a crown of some type and not the sailing ship. Wait, says 25 cent and 1957. Check website, ends up being mostly Netherlands nickel but sure shines like silver!!!!
Yet another reason to always, always check your coins. Cleaning this one up saved the day!!!! (It had to be somewhat tarnished or discolored or I think I would have caught at the time).
