I was out detecting and found this beauty 8 inches down with the NEL tornado coil. First seated of the year and only my second seated dime ever. Also found a 3 ringerl Coin came in around 12-44. It was under a tree root. Was able to pop it out after some good digging. Shocked. Thought it would be a copper penny

Very nice!
The Seated are hard to come by in my area.
Come to think of it, so are 3 ringers. Never found one.
Well done!

What did it sound like, was it a strong solid tone? Big coil and sensitive too, awesome.

Pretty strong. Almost gave up. It was under a root. It was ringing up 12-44. But after getting out of the hole it still rang up 12-44. So I guess it is what those Seated dimes ring up. I was running a open screen with FE around 6 and CO around 25. Conductive multitone. So far the Thunder has found 2 mercs, 1 seated dime, 1829 large cent, 3 ringer, and a silver charm. Proof in the finds. Heres the 3 ringer.

3-ringer rang up 12-33 for those who want to know. :) My Avatar is the last seated dime I found. So now I have 2 1875s.

Excellent find. You were using the Thunder coil, correct ? your post mentions the Tornado coil but I'm guessing you meant Thunder.
I seem to be having good results with mine.

A beautiful coin - congrats !

Pic of the three ringers from that day. I thought I only had one but found another flat one in my trash bag.
