I came home and my new Silver uMax was on my porch! I just hit my test garden and she beeps! When I get caught up on work I'll take her out to the sand and tot lots. That's where I "beep dig" anyway. Maybe the Silver will find gold. I'm sure it will.

Sounds like fun!

I'll be watching to see your comparison with the Little Yeller Feller...

If I ever get any time to hunt. Between work and my two boys baseball games there's no time to hunt.

I'm like you-I have the Silver and the Ace. See if you find the same things that I found. Even though the Silver "clicks" or "pops" over some trash, at least it's quieter than the "bong" and meter hopping! I'm not sure the Silver is that deeper than the Ace in ALL conditions. I could speed the Ace's coil up and get more depth to keep up with the Silver at it's regular sweep speed. After trying all settings on the discrimination-I ended up leaving it in its lowest setting because I started finding glazed over nickels and small rings and charms that others were missing-not to mention coins that were being masked by trash-I had a quarter that gave a "sputtery" signal that was only 1-2 " and after rechecking the hole in all metal got a big signal. And if you get into an old homesite where something great can be found, try switching from allmetal to min. disc-or any other promising site, for that matter. I sometimes still use the Ace when I'm in tab city. After using it for a while and recovering some "iffy" signals, you will wonder if you could ever trust a TID anymore.

I cut my teeth on non metered machines for over 15 years. I bought the Silver to hunt my "beep dig" areas. Like volleyball sand and tot lots.
