Found out just what Scarified means

So there is this piece of property I have been to 3 times now. When I got permision the manager told me that the earliest house was built in 1921 or 23. All of the houses are gone now as it would have cost more to bring their standards back up to date as decent rentals. About the last thing the guy said was that the property had been "scarified". Well I know that roughly means a dozer of some type has been over the place.

To me this means you can find a 1943 Merc. at less than 2" depth and a 1974 Canadian Quarter at 6".
Both of which I have found at this place.
There were at least 3 houses here and a celler hole for sure. I also know there were several out buldings. I have found 1 area so far where there are coins if not 2. So far I have found 2 foundations and will hit the fill in one. The other is jampacked with trash and I mean bad, so I will probably not hit that one till last. Hopefully the other guy I have seen evidence of will have been in there and got some of the trash out. I will also hit the fence line looking for a post hole bank. Hoping for a depresion era stash.

Be happy to find some more silver

I would pound that site! I have a few sites I hit like that. At 2 of them found silver less than 2" down. Also have found silver down around the 6"-8" range. I keep going back and I keep finding stuff, Beale.

A Scarifier is usually pulled behind a tractor, and it has prongs which dig into the soil but dont turn it as much as a plough. And you're right, you could find anything at any depth. Keep on hitting it and good luck!
