I was hunting a really trashed out soccer field. I think it was the worst one I've ever hunted before. It was so trashed out that using tone id was useless. So I cranked my disc to max and put it into 1F tone mode, cranked the sens to 95, DE mode and just focused on strong sounding audio tones. Today it let me pull $7, counting the George Washington Dollar coin out of that mess. Still had a lot of noise to deal with but the coins really stood out. I like that 1F mode for trashy sites. Well, really, I just plain like the 1F mode for mostly everything here lately. Round targets hit good. Seems I go to that mode more and more often as most of my site conditions render the 3, 3H, 4 & 4H modes useless. My ground minerals and trash content just get to 'high tone' noisy. About the only ones I can use with any confidence are the 1F, 2F and dP modes. I like the dP mode when the trash is light, but for deep targets, or high trash, the 1F is doing the trick.

I didn't know what the dollar coin was at first. Thought it was play money.

Same here - I'll have to try the 1F. I've done alright w/ the 3H and 4, but I feel like I'm missing a bunch of targets because so much chatters in in the high tone range.

Last summer I found a 2000 Sacka . . . Sacquachewie . . . Indian Lady dollars.

Looked worse than a 1950's cent after just a few months or years in the soil. Oh well. A buck's a buck!
