Found on Beach

Hey there... I found this on the beach today in Asbury Park, NJ and not sure what it is, any ideas? its kinda heavy for its size and its about 4 inches long, im not sure if its something off a boat or what..

have a great day!

that long?? Could be a military bullet. If its heavy its full of lead. Also with the grooves in it, I would say its a fired boat tail, NO idea what caliber since its so long. Well thats what it looks like from here. Here is a picture.

Hey Audiyo...I think what you have there is a .50 caliber bullet from WWII. In my area they had a training ground where the planes practiced their bombing and strafing runs and we often find the shells and bullets. They look exactly like what you have there. Hope it helps

Yes, .50 caliber

Found that there, with some knickknacks

wow thats pretty cool ( to me anyway, its my first bullet if this is actually what it is : ) ) thanks for the info!!

oh it is more like 3 inches long...

i used to detect near punta gorda florida and found a lot of bullet shells/ casings but nothing like this before

I have a few cartridges from 1918 that I find in one of the local lakes but I haven't found a bullet that fit them yet.

Things Wash in with the Waves, You think it would 1/2 to be within the brakers to wash in???? the 2 things i found that wear out at sea, Was a Divers Wrist Watch,
And some kind of Printing die, As big as a Silver Dollar and as thick as a 1/4 " of solid steel with a knotch as to fit in a printing press, It is printed in reverse and reads Delphi investments of California,

My bullet was a black lump in the shape of a smoking pipe.I threw it in a glass of acid and was very surprised to see it was a bullet.

Yes, its a 50 caliber. Interesting, I found some further South of you. Wonder if they were pulled up from dredging or were from somewhere close-by/offshore.
