Found on battlefield - what is it?

[attachment 41856 DSCN1331.JPG]I am wondering if this is a civil war relic or just agricultural junk. I found it 2 weeks ago in a field where the Stones River battle was fought in Murfreesboro, TN. This field has been used since for agriculture, but definitely saw combat. It is made of iron and I found it about 4 inches deep. Could this have been part of a limber, wagon, etc.? I'd appreciate anyone's opinion.
