Found my oldest coin to date

Hit a corn field last night for an hour. Dug some shotgun shells and other farmer junk and then this corroded beauty, an 1840 large cent.

You have me beat by 2yrs, I found a 1842 L.Cent last week under a bunch of iron.
 
There are square nails the size of my index finger at this field. I think I need to just clear a 10x10 and repeat. I'm hoping for a bust dime!

that is a great find, coin will be 200 in 28 years. 172, yea that beats my best by a mile . keep plugging away at that spot. d
