...Went over Flint way;to check out the new bikes...Sat on a few cruisers;got them cramps in my right hip-joint again;just like the last one I owned;so that eliminated that kinda bike...THEN:I sat on a Kawasaki KLR 650 dual-purpose on/off road bike...sits up a lot higher..WELL:Once I got my leg slung over it to sit on it(NOT easy with arthritic hips,believe me!!)I stood it up,put up the kickstand;and...NO HIP CHARLEY HORSES...
THE BEST PART:That cruiser I sat on was flirting with a $10,000.00 price tag...This KLR:Brand new;2007 model:$5,100.00...The salesman hinted around that they might cover the taxes and freight/prep;too...SO:I told him;I gotta wait till first of March;when we have a new contract to vote on;and he said"WE WILL BE HERE THEN....AND;YOU GO TO ANY OTHER DEALER IN THE STATE;AND WE'LL BEAT 'EM ON THE PRICE"...Its just what Im lookin for to take up to the U.P.with me campin-I will load my camper on me truck;and I gotta buy me one of them bike carriers that slide into my receiver;and go...AND:That bike is street-legal-6 gallon gas tank;50+miles a gallon-I will ride it to work this summer,too-Save gas;AND miles on me truck!!!...
