Hey all.I had the day off today, and hit a home site that was just torn down.I think I found some little kids" secret stash". I found the remains of a broken jar with:72 corroded zinc cents,23 copper cents,3 wheaties,2 nickels, and a 1974 hot wheels army tank. At another site I found a 1962 roosie, and my share of deep, short, thick, rusty nails my CZ70 indicated were high coin(I love my CZ,even though" it loves "deep iron) Do I need to report my $1.08 wind fall to the IRS? Just kidding. HH.

IRS rules can be confusing and if I ever found a large Cache or perhaps a rare coin, valuable ring or the like they sure wouldn't find out about it..
As far as those deep rusty nails visit Mikes CZ page as he offers some good advice and although years ago dug a lot thru years of experience and using little tricks rarely one fools me but now and then I dig one...Biggest Cache I ever found was 8 bucks of 65-66 quarters, close but no cigar as 8 bucks of silver coins would be nice.:clapping:

The biggest cache I ever found was a jar full of pennies. About $7.00 in all. It was kind of a cool find. I was at the beach working the wet when I started getting a lot of pennies down by the surf. As I worked my way up towards the dry there where more and more pennies. Then I noticed, hanging out of a cut, a broken jar full of pennies. Some kid was playing "pirate" I suppose. I have found a few rubber coin purses with coins but nothing to write home about.
