Found my first IH and oldest coin.

Yesterday was a good day for me. Not only did I find my first IH cent but my oldest coin so far dated 1864. My first pre-1900 coin. The coin is hardly readable and I couldn't photo it well. I was at my regular spot with all the dirt piles. The Boro front-end loader came by and leveled everything renewing my site. I was using my DFX with 6x8 SEF DD coil. Thanks for looking. HH. Matt

Congratulations Matt! Your hard work and patients finally paid off for you! - Jim

all you need is one good find , just one , and you just never know , I had a buddy who used to work construction , and they hauled away dirt that was full of silver coins the construction workers busted open a cash and strew it all over and they hauled most of it away to a place just like you are hunting , so things could get good fast for U keep digging

Thanks guys. Yeah Gunnar...exactly right. I go almost every day for 2-6 hours. I use 2 different detectors, each with multiple coils and on one I change programs. I try every angle and technique possible. For me it never gets old. Most every day at least 1 new pile is dumped. Its so dry around here I don't want to cut plugs anywhere anyway. Good luck to you all and HH. Matt
