G'day guys, just thought i would share with you a very happy day of mine.
It was the 2/1/13 and i had my parents flown over to Kalgoorlie western australia all the way from Cairns far north QLD australia.
I took my dad out to a lease that my friend paul is the current holder. About 35mins into our detector session and about 150M from my vehicle i heard a rather faint signal but a signal none the less..
So i scraped the rocks and light soil from the surface and the signal became a little stronger. So i scrapped about 4 inches of soil out of the road and the signal was screaming at me. I kept scrapping and checking my hole as the signal was getting bigger and bigger. At about 12in down the signal disapeared out of the hole and was now in my mullock. After a bit of farting around i recovered my iron clad beauty! A beautiful 4 gram specimen was now sitting in my hand!
We went on gridding the spot around the nugget and to our luck picked up another 3 nuggets ranging from .2gram to 3 grams.
Love my new second hand GPX4000!
