Found my biggest piece of bling

Got in touch with a lady a month ago who said her sister lost her diamond ring about 15 yrs ago in her yard. It seems that she took them off to push the kids on the swing set, when her nephew then 5 years old grabbed them and was running around the yard. After much searching they found the wedding band but not the diamond. I told her that i have a few metal detectors and that i would try to find it if she wanted me to. she said sure but didnt sound to enthusiastic about it. Well i got there this afternoon while she was at church and after about 40 minutes i had the ring. I waited about 15 minutes and she arrived home and asked how i did, I held it out and she damn near fell over stating you've got to be kidding me you really found it. I told her i was going to bring it home and have it cleaned and she looked at me kinda strange, i told her if i was going to take it i would have left after i found it and not have shown her she agreed. Shes going to get in contact with her sister and have her meet her at her house and not tell her why she needs to come over but just be there. She thought it was a 4 carat diamond but im guessing more a 2.5 carat, when i bring it to be cleaned ill have it checked. and post the size and photos of the return. thanks for looking

Great story, I bet she's going to be surprised!

Awesome work! She's going to be extatic. And I'm SURE her hubby will be too! That's one heck of a rock... Kudos.

WOW now that is rock! Fantastic recovery. Kent, thank you for being honest and showing others (non-detectorists) what this hobby is all about. - Jim

Nice job Kent. Are you going to be there when she shows the ring to her sister? This makes a great story for the local papers and even for the manufacturer. Which detector did you use when you found the ring? :clapping:

Video tape it..
