I have been MDing the last few days during my lunch period and after work at the City Park in the city where I work. They are constructing some new walking paths and are digging the paths, framing them, then putting in the concrete. I have been lucky enough to hunt the paths before they get them framed while the construction guys take their lunch and after they get off work. I haven't found any silver coins so far but have found a 1901 IH penny, 1917,1918,1939 wheat pennys, an old silver ID bracelet, and a few modern coins. Today after work I found this little unusual metal disc that appears to be stamped thin copper. I was wondering if anyone could ID the symbol on the disc. I have found old and new stuff in the same area so don't have a clue what it is. It is a little smaller than a dime and thin.
