Found in Staten Island need help to identify

My friend found this in Staten Island it appears to be copper or bronze. Any idea's?

Spanish copper reale.

Spanish copper 8-reale cob. "Pirate Money" of Philippe III, 1598-1621 AD.
Lion within shield, counterstamp "XII" /Castle within shield, counterstamped under Philip IV "1641", inscription on edge of coin....."PHILIPPVS III..."

An example of one nearly identical to yours except year 1619 (yours is 1614) and the only one I could find with a matching counter stamp.
This example is heavily counterstamped on several different areas of the coin making it appear like a different type.

Yours has a counter stamp on it directly over the Lion in Shield. ( XII)

Here is a closer match to yours but I don't know if I'd trust that this one is real......
It specifies that it is made of copper despite the appearance of silver. It just looks like a brand new copy to me.
