The coin looking thing is actually a coin that is given to soldiers for doing a good job or as it says "awarded for excilance". While I was in the Army I recieved a few of these, but not like that one since I was in the military from 2002-2006... This one is obviously older, but they have been doing this tradition for a long time. All of the coins usually have a rank on them and soldiers use them at bars that fellow soldiers frequent. The person with the highest rank coin wins and everyone else has to buy him a drink... Looking at your coin, I see a 1 star and a 2 star generals rank and also a SGM rank (maybe it looks blurry) at the bottom. Really cool find man!
