found grandma's thimble

T/h today with son and grandson near a house I used to live with my grandparents. Couldn't hunt the yard, but did hunt b/t the sidewalk and the highway. Found one of her thimbles! Amazing how much the little things mean when loved ones are gone. L

Nice find, and a bit of family history too. It's amazing where we find those thimbles. Two days ago I found a child's thimble by a stone wall across from a cellar hole. Makes you wonder if they carried them around like any personal belonging. They must have been important to them. Ron

You are right, simple items that remind us of our love ones are more valuable then gold. And they do bring back great memories too. :)

That's cool and sentimentally valuable. I'm anxious to go to my wife's family's old homestead out in the country in Mississippi to see if I can find stuff just like you found. I wish I had momentos of my grandparents.
