I went looking thru my finds junk box & suprisingly I still had it.

Its as about as long as my pinky finger, seems to at one time been plated with chrome or some silvery metal & has the following on it....

"MICHELIN"
"??LLTOWN N.?. U.S.A"
"MADE IN USA"

and has threads inside.

Valve Cap off of a large tractor tire?

It looks quite similar to yours.... about the same size, same crosshatch marks in approx. same place.... perhaps a different design of the same type of item?

I think it's a valve cap for tire

Its a valve cap used on the older studibaker trucks and on some cars. Your wing ears are missing. The one pic from Missouri Jim shown here with the ears is a classic example. How do i know this, i have about 200 of them in a box, my great grandpappy ran a tire shop in the 30's and 40's. He repaired anything and everything, from tractor tires to old wagon wheels.
