Found at 1800's site today

I found this today at an 1800's site. Found it with my White's MXT. It is in excellent shape. Everything I have been able to find on these puts them in the civil war era. Anyone have any
information on it that you can share with me????

Its a heel cover. They were nailed to the heel of a shoe.

Nice heel plate dirtdigginlady! I found half of one just like yours a week ago. I pulled it out today while on a hunt to show a friend. Now I can't find it! It must have fallen out of my bag! Congrats on a nice find....be sure to put it away!!!!
