I was out with the blisstool the day befor and my last target sounded good , but I was to tired to dig it so i came back with the Gold bug and found it again, this spot is rumered to have been a stage crossing , also loggs where floated down to mills I have mostly found Iron in this spot but this is a good find , who knows what els is hiding , one rock set the Gold bug off badd, I am cleaning the stone up and will use it to test detectors, I always try to save the really mineralized stones, altogether it was a nice day out . and I have to get back to this spot

Nice find! That's a keeper.
Reminds me of the famous Salvador Dali painting...

Nice find there Gunnar. I got my first pocket watch a few months back.

Hey, when you are testing that Blisstool to see how it handles minerals, try stacking 3 or 4 bricks on top of a clad dime. Then see how many bricks you have to remove to see the dime through the mineralization. I'm talking the old solid red bricks here, because the newer solid ones or ones with holes I don't think really are mineralized. At least a few I tested weren't. I think they might dye them red instead of them being naturally red like the old red bricks used years ago.

I'm in the process of making a youtube video right now where I'm stacking bricks over a clad dime and then comparing various coils to see if any see the dime through more red bricks than the others. The SEFs are said to handle minerals well, but I want to see how that compares to two other coils I have along with the 13" Ultimate, so this is one little test that might give some indications about it.

I'm curious...Anybody know why the old solid red bricks are red and mineralized? I'm suspecting they are maybe made from iron rich clay perhaps that also contains other heavy minerals?

Dodge, that's the first thing that came to mind when seeing the watch frame, lol

Critter I have only one red brick but will keep that in mind, I know the gold bug does not like baked bricks in all metal or coke but in disq it handles red brick fine now the bliss would probly do very well , the pavers from ohio are good for testing lots of red clay thear .

Nice find Gunnar! Goes to show you will never know what you find next and where you will locate it. Maybe they slipped crossing the river and not only the watch fell in but their pocket full of change. Keep us posted on your river hunting expeditions.

say , in the 1920,s not far from hear a guy lost 500 dollars in gold coins in a lake , and another guy lost a bag of gold coins , , hay they did not have detectors how could you see the glint of gold if it was in a leather sac ? yes you just dont know , todays finds was just somes hand forged iron and a few broken cast iron stove parts nothing non feruss Iron , Jimmy I may have to put on those waders soon.

Well Gunnar,
put those waders on and start swimming like a duck. Time is ticking (no pun intended) - before the snow flies my friend. Every available chance get out there and hunt the rummy while it is low. Then this winter you won't have regrets sitting by the fireplace. What you will have is memories of being in the great outdoors enjoying the hobby you love so much. I wish you glimmers of silver and gold - Jimmy
