found a uso at the beach

i found this unidentified silver object at the beach yesterday has a 925 stamp anybody have any idea what it is thanks hh

It looks a silver mark, one that is stamped at the hilt under the handle of some silverware, similar to a fork handle and part of the hilt that has been melted.

I know being a fork doesn't explain why the pivot points/holes in that loop part, may be a vintage egg holder or some other silver flatware that had a pin hinge. Just a guess though. Oh, is the that green copper leaching out of the metal?

The pictures aren't very clear but it looks as if the metal snapped at the break points.
925 silver is rather ductile and shouldn't break clean like the item in the photo.

To me the numbers or letters on the piece do not look like 925. I can also see the green leaching at the break and believe it might be silverplated brass or copper.

The '925' is upside down in the original pic and I see that part clearly.
