Found a toy car while detecting today ~ I'm telling you this, why?....

because I had never seen another one like it before. After rubbing the dirt off the bottom of this odd looking car, there were the words "Johnny Lightning...Topper... US and Foreign Pat. Pend." After doing a search on the internet, I find that there was only 5000 of this particular car made, and they are "hard to find". According to the website, new in the box these are worth $225, and $55-65 in used condition. It was made in 1970.

Has anyone else found a Johnny Lightning toy car?

About six years ago, I found a couple of toy cars made in England. One was an ambulance car, the back doors opened, the side doors opened, and there was a small stretcher in the back. Other than the paint being gone, it was in pretty good shape. I traded that and two other cars for some hand made jewelry, including a set of Indian head penny earrings for my wife.

My brother and I collected Hot Wheels since they were the easiest to find and had more of a selection.
