Found a Sword, Need help identifying

Joe, it is indeed a sword blade. All you are missing is the components for the handle, which would include the wooden/ivory/bone handle itself, a pommel and knuckle guard (without going into finer detail such as wiring, etc).

As to the type, I am not an expert on blades. However, I do know a sword when I see one. And you've 100 percent found one.

Congrats on the terrific find! Not many relic hunters will be able to hang up their snake boots at the end of their careers and say they found a sword!
