Back at the lot I found the IH at yesterday, the back end is like a waste land, beer cans, trash, etc. The fellow that lets me MD there has been restoring the property for years, no one lives there. Im detecting near that zone and a glint catches my eye. There on the ground is an oversized safety pin- with at least 4 gold rings on it and several others like wedding rings with apparent diamonds mounted up on those prongs, sapphires on white gold. etc. There were also several bar code tags on it and one key. Not apparently a car key. I could see 14 k. 10 k, don

Good on you os. I agree, does sound strange. i would, though, keep checking with the police dept. It it just a strange enough situation that they may not find the owner(s). Let us know the outcome. Good job. HH jim tn

Good for you Oz for doing the proper thing and turning them in, honesty in my books is the best and only policy!

Sorry you didn't contact me first though I couldn't remember where I lost them  Thanks for finding them for me! :clapping:

Your the Man !!!

That decision of yours may have been really hard, or really easy (or somewhere in between). My feeling is that you have done the right thing. An odd situation, and from your find, the rightful owner may benefit. I would check with the police and politely enquire why you did not get a receipt....they may give you one, even yet. Great find, and great job.

It will be interesting to find out the back story. Just amazing what kind of adventure awaits once we are out of the house! Yeah, its best not to look too closely at things like that, just turn 'em in...you can still count them as finds though, that will be tough to beat! Stay on top of it...they may be yours in the end...great post, you are one of the good guys alright!
