Found a ring Tuesday

I managed to get out for a few hours Tuesday and my At/Pro was acting up and I've had a small leak in my chest waders that was annoying, but it turned into a catastrophic leak and filled up both legs with water and was spurting like a geyser out of my left boot when I walked out of the river. I can't understand it because I take good care of my chest waders and always hang them up after use. Found the usual junk of broken glass, lots of bullets and casings and a few pop tops and pull tabs, but 1 ring kept it from being a shut out in the river's favor. I meant to soak it in jewelry cleaner for 2-3 minutes and then clean it up, but forgot it for 3 hours. It looks rough now and I hope to post a photo next week when I come back to the library. It has 10K in the band, but I think it's gold plated and it looks like an old ring. It was good to get out for almost 3 hours and even if I hadn't found anything but junk, what I was looking for was a little time to myself and I really enjoyed it. GL & HH.

Sweet! :clapping: Yeah, waders are really something when they work, but really something when they dont too...I dont have a good answer...warm water in the Summer is just around the corner! Good to see you Fongu!

Any ring is a good find these days. I was talking to a jewelry store owner last year, and he said gold ring sales were down about 30% because gold has gone up so much. People were opting out to buy other rings such as stainless steel, silver, titanium and combinations of these. My gold ring finds have also slipped the last 3-4 years.

I didn't get the photo on my flash drive and can't upload it from my camera at the library. I think people watching the detecting shows and seeing us at the beaches and rivers has got them storing their jewelry in their cars. I believe it's going to be a hot dry summer because the gnats were out last week and it's usually June or July before they are a nuisance, but they are early this year. The earliest I've ever seen them. Bummed out about the chest waders tho. 2 years is not very good service and thought I took good care of them.

Here is photos of the ring. Think it's gold plated, but still haven't checked it out with the acids or magnet. Pretty sure it's gold plated.

I exactly feel the same with my searches. Finds or no finds, I always have a good time just being one with nature and always expecting the excitment of the possible next find. I just love this Hobby.
