Found a "peace" of silver!

I've always checked around the corners of old houses for coins as I thought I read once that people used to bury them there for good luck. Never thought I'd find something until I dug up a 1922-D $1 Peace silver dollar on Saturday.

I followed along the rock foundation of a house and got a signal on my 1500 at the $1 coin mark. Dutifully I dug it up thinking it was junk but I was shocked to find the dollar about 2-3 inches down. The spot where I found it wasn't the corner of the house now but originally it was as I saw that the rock foundation gave way to a newer concrete one. So my advice: check those old foundation corners!

good advice. More and more we are beginning to search old homesites. That advice, I will keep in mind.

Wow, what a great find. I was just telling my cousin that I had heard that they used to do that but I read they would put it on one of the rafters on a certain corner of the house. The giggest coin I have found is a silver half. A dollar and a gold coiin are on my to do list. Great find.
