found a nice hotchkiss artillery shell!!!

Me and my dad went to a new spot after doing some researvch and getting permission. after about 30 minutes I found my first artillery shell the pic is it after being disarmed and cleaned. It and many other civil war relics can be seen being dug on YouTube at. LAdigger81 check it out.
 
how do you go about getting one disarmed when you find these?
